
Diane Buzzell holds a BFA in Ballet Performance from the University of Oklahoma and a MA in Dance from Butler University. She is the former director of IU School of Contemporary Dance and taught in the Ballet and Modern Dance Departments at Indiana University. Diane founded and performed with Indiana Dance Theater. She also performed with Indianapolis Dance Company, Butler Ballet, Oklahoma Festival Ballet, Repertory Dance Theatre, Center Dance Company, DC City Ballet and Fairfax Ballet Company. She held the position of adjunct faculty at Butler University and was invited to be a guest professor at the University of Oklahoma.
Ms. Buzzell's choreography includes Babes in Arms, Pippin, Damn Yankee, The Fantasticks, West Side Story, My Fair Lady and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying for Bloomington High School North, Music Man for the Indiana University Theatre Department, Die Fledermaus for Indiana University Opera Theater, King Arthur for Bloomington Early Music Festival (BLEMF) and Beauty and the Beast for Bloomington Music Works Jr. This is Diane’s second year with Stages Bloomington. Along with her artistic endeavors, Diane is the Special Events and Stewardship Coordinator for IU’s School of HPER and is an associate member of the Boys’ and Girls’ Club Auxiliary.
