Scholarships

Stages Bloomington provides music, dance, and theatre arts experiences for children and teens. We are committed to making these opportunities widely available, and are pleased to offer financial aid in the form of scholarships.

Scholarships are for families who demonstrate a strong financial need and who would otherwise be unable to participate in our classes and/or productions. We base our eligibility criteria on the income guidelines established by the Healthy Indiana Program for Monroe County.

Financial aid is disbursed on a sliding scale. Scholarships are based on both the application form and availability of scholarship funds. Eligible families may receive scholarships covering 20-80 percent of tuition. All families will pay a minimum of 20 percent of the tuition cost. Budget limitations determine the amount of scholarships we award each session. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Financial aid is not guaranteed to everyone who qualifies.

Families applying for financial aid should register for their chosen class or production and submit a minimum deposit of 20 percent at the time of registration and application for assistance. This amount secures the student’s place in class while the financial aid application is processed. If you are unable to accept the financial aid award, your deposit will be returned.

Applications are confidential and reviewed solely by the scholarship committee. We will do our best to notify you of our financial aid decision within a week of the application deadline. Unless prior arrangements are made, the balance of the tuition, if any, must be paid prior to the start of programming.
